Here in this guide, we will be showing you how you can upgrade your weapon and armor blueprint in Once Human to increase the damage or protection. Let’s get started!
What is a Weapon and Armor Upgrade in Once Human – Star Rating
Before you get a good weapon or armor in Once Human, you have to craft it using the blueprint that you got. That blueprint has stars on the top left, which you can see in your Inventory (i)>Blueprints.
Every blueprint that you get in Once Human has only a single star, meaning you have to increase the star rating yourself.
This star rating is a symbol of weapon or armor, and any other gear upgrade. When you upgrade that gear of yours, that star rating will increase.
Fascinatingly, each weapon or gear has its own maximum number of stars. The difference these stars or upgrades is not that much, and with each star it slowly lessens.
Thus, we don’t recommend increasing the star rating beyond 3, as the results are nearly minimal.

How to Upgrade Weapon and Armor Blueprint in Once Human – Increasing Star Rating
To upgrade a weapon or armor blueprint, you need to first have the same blueprint available for the weapon or armor that you are looking to upgrade in Once Human.
Wish Machine
To get these duplicate blueprints, the best method is to get yourself one of those shiny Wish Machines. How to get them?
- Go to Memetics using “O” key on your keyboard
- Proceed to Logistics (third-tab)
- Scroll down till you see “Wish Machine”, which is below “Vending Machine”
Building a Wish Machine
After you have the Wish Machine, you need to also put that Wish Machine in your base. Here’s how to do it!
- Go to your base
- Click “B” to start building
- Right-click to open build menu
- Go to “Facilities”
- Then, “Function Facilities”
- Click on Wish Machine and place it on your base
Getting Duplicate Blueprint for Upgrade
Head over to the Wish Machine and press F to open the blueprint shop.
Choose the weapon that you want to upgrade in Once Human. Keep in mind that you need starchrom to actually do this.
Note: It works the same for armor and other gear, so no worries.
After you have the blueprint, you need to upgrade it. Go to the Wish Machine and press “G” this time and select the weapon blueprint.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor Blueprint in Once Human
Play the game, and after you have 3 Blue Prints (BPs), open the inventory and head to Blueprint.
Right click on the Weapon or Armor you want to upgrade in Once Human.
Then, click on Enhancement, and use the Blueprints you earned to enhance the Weapon Star Rating, and also to upgrade the Weapon Blueprint.
