Finding Recipes: The game offers numerous recipes, ranging from common to legendary. To locate these recipes, utilize the Once Human Interactive Map by Daopa. Although some features are outdated, the recipe locations remain accurate.

- Use the legend to filter and locate all recipes.
Unlocking Recipes: Once you find a recipe, use it from your inventory to unlock it at your stove. Higher-tier stoves are necessary to cook legendary meals.
Stove Tiers and Recipe Access
To craft recipes, you need a stove, and there are multiple tiers of stoves you can get in Once Human. To craft certain highest-tier recipes, you need to get the highest tier stove.
To get the Stove, you need to go to the Memetics, and from there, you need to head towards the Logistics, which is the third from left to right.
The very first one under Stoves is the one that has all the formulas listed.
Moving down the list, you can find all the tiers, like dishes, drying, storage, and so on.
Stove Tiers:
- Basic Stove: Allows the cooking of simple meals like roasted meat and grilled fish.
- Dishes 1: It has all the formulas like roasted meat and grilled fish.
- Air Drying Rack: Preserves meat, providing high energy with a trade-off in hydration.

Farm Setup
Efficient Watering: A single sprinkler can water a 5×5 grid if placed correctly.
Optimal Layout:
- 3×5 Grid: Efficient for smaller setups.
- 5×5 Grid: Maximizes crop yield with fewer sprinklers.
Lighting:
- Height Matters: Raise lights to cover larger areas efficiently.
- Wattage: Use low-wattage lights (1 watt each) to save energy.
Example Setup:
- Sprinklers: Only 2 watts each.
- Lights: Approximately two wall heights high to cover a 5×5 grid.
There are other equipment like pumps, osmosis water purifiers, and so on, that require more wattage than others.
Pipes Setup
While you are making such a beautiful farming base in Once Human, you can’t miss out on the water pipes that are on your whole farm.
You have to be careful while aligning them in such a way that they seem seamless.
Put the water pumps below the building, and then take the pipes from them to the round building, moving them around.
Then take each of the segments, and move the pipe to the farm. Don’t move the pipes in the middle and from there attach them to the farm, as it will give a cross-connect that looks quite bad.
Here’s how to do that:
- Water pumps that take 1 wattage, can be used to pump the water physically.
- Where water moves up, and then shifts to either left, right, top, or even bottom, put these pumps.
- Water pumps are node equivalent, and when rerouting them, you have to put them a bit lower in contrast to the pump line that is higher before it. This will help you pump 24/7.
- In short, the pump valve after should be lower than the pump valve before. The concept is that the gravity goes down, and so the water will go down from the first valve to the next.
- If the water is flowing the wrong way, you just have to put the pump a little bit down than the previous.
Farming Memetics – Plants
Same as before, when you head to the Stove area, you have to go there and on the right side, you have all the stuff related to planting and farming.
You can get all the plant seeds from the wild, or you can also get them from the vendors in Once Human.

How Planting Works in Once Human
So, coming to the main point, when you are starting with farming, you have to first create a space, which we mentioned.
Then, you have to click on the location and then put a seed and a fertilizer.
Afterward, you have to take care of all the stuff like Irrigation and Lighting which we also covered.
Change Irrigation
To change the irrigation, you have to go to the automatic irrigation facility and click the “F” key to change the intensity.
This number is exactly linked to the irrigation tab that we mentioned earlier.
Change Lighting
Lights are instant here, but there are a few things you have to take into account here. These special windows will allow the light to directly hit the farm.
If you remove them, the light is going to be spread out more, which is not so efficient.
Target Lighting is another thing that you have to look out for. If you want to increase or decrease lighting, you can press F to change it.
Both of these values depend on the plant you are growing and depends on farming.
You can create a farm of plants with nearly the same values required for irrigation and lighting. Then, you can change the values of irrigation and lighting.

Best Locations to Farm Grumpy Onion and Growshroom Deviants
These two are the deviants that have special abilities to enhance your farming capabilities. They will increase the speed at which you plants grow, and also plant and harvest the crops for you automatically.
You can start putting Grumpy Onions and out of them a Growshroom will grow, which is based on luck, so you will have to work hard.
Besides this, the best location to farm Growshroom in Once Human is the north of the Sunbury Middle School.
There is a giant bear cave here, to the right and besides this, you can find a ton of mushrooms. Within one or two runs, you can get the Growsroom Deviant.

- If you don’t have access to sprinklers, and you are in a smaller base with less assets. You can use the Rain Man Deviant.
- If you find one of those massive trees, you can get yourself a Fetch Alot Bunny while chopping that tree with your pickaxe. This bunny will gather shrubs in the nearby area around your base, that will give you a chance to collect seeds as well. Put this bunny in a container in your base.
