In Elden Ring DLC, we have 29 armor pieces or sets with special effects. We’re ranking them from worst to best based on their usefulness in PVE. Whether you’re playing for the fashion or for the combat advantage, knowing which armor gives you the best edge can make a huge difference. Let’s begin!

Before heading to the guide, feel free to check out other GamersandGeek Game Guides for Elden Ring DLC as well:

29. Pelt of Ralva

The Pelt of Ralva boosts your Bear Communion spells by 15%. Sadly, with only one Bear Communion spell, the Roar of Rugalea, which does poor damage, this 15% boost isn’t very impactful. You might wear it for its cool look, but don’t expect much utility unless it gets buffed in the future.

28. Braided Cord Robe

This stylish robe gives 15% more damage to the Watchful Spirit spell and the Horned Bairn Tool. Unfortunately, both are underwhelming. The Horned Bairn Tool is the best of the two but still not impressive. Stick with spells for better damage.

27. High Priest Hat

Offering a free +1 to Intelligence and Arcane, this hat can help meet minimum requirements for certain builds. However, due to the limited number of Intelligence and Arcane options, its utility is minimal.

26. Salza’s Hood

Providing +2 to Intelligence, the Salza’s Hood is a Unique Effect Armor that is overshadowed by the Rennala Hat, which offers +3 Intelligence with similar damage negation. Opt for Rennala’s Hat for better benefits.

25. Divine Bird Helm

This helm gives +3 to Strength, +4 to Dexterity, and boosts Divine Bird Feathers spell damage by 10%, but reduces your Healing Flask’s effect by 10%. The trade-off of losing significant healing makes it less desirable.

24 & 23. Cursed Blade Mask & Horned Warrior Helm

These helmets give +5 to Strength (Horned Warrior) or Dexterity (Cursed Blade) but reduce Healing Flask effectiveness by 7.5%. Good for meeting minimum weapon requirements, but the loss of healing is notable.

22 & 21. Divine Beast Head & Divine Beast Helm

Both pieces boost Storm-based attacks but decrease healing by 12.5% and 10% respectively. The larger Divine Beast Head is heavier with more negation, while the smaller one offers slightly less. They are best for min-maxing builds on second playthroughs.

20. Grave Bird Helm

This helm boosts Rings of Spectral Light spell damage by 15%. This spell is decent for higher-level int-faith builds due to its long range and frost proc.

19. Death Mask Helm

Reducing FP cost for Spirit Summons by 17%, this helm can save you a lot of FP. However, it doesn’t decrease the FP requirement, so you need enough FP to summon initially.

18. Crucible Hammer Helmet

Boosting Crucible Incantations by 4%, this helmet is similar to other Crucible Helmets and enhances Crucible skills. It’s a good choice for those focusing on Crucible Incantations and skills, thus one of the best Elden Ring DLC Special Effect Armor parts.

17. Imp Head (Lion)

Providing +2 to Vigor, this helmet is a straightforward choice for more health. It’s especially useful when you’re unsure which stat to boost.

16. Great Jar

An upgraded version of the regular Jar Helmet, it offers a 16% boost to pots, including hefty pots. Ideal for a pot build, it also offers decent damage negation and looks cool.

15. Thiollier’s Set

The Thiollier’s Mask and Garb give a combined +5 to Arcane, perfect for meeting minimum requirements for certain weapons or spells. It’s especially valuable since boosting Arcane can be challenging.

14. St Trina’s Blossom

Providing a 6% boost to your FP bar, this helmet is excellent for caster builds, allowing more spells or skill casts. It’s not the best for damage negation, but great for staying at a distance and spamming spells.

13. Fire Knight’s Armor

Boosting Messmer Flame incantations by 4%, this chest piece is fantastic for builds centered around these incantations. It’s equivalent to a free talisman, making it a valuable addition.

12. Divine Bird Warrior Greaves

Offering 4% more damage to kicking and stomping attacks, these greaves are perfect for builds focusing on these moves. They stack with the Shattered Stone Talisman and have no competition among leg pieces.

11. Circlet of Light

Boosting Faith, Intelligence, and Arcane by +1, and giving 10% more damage to Miquella’s incantations, this helmet is a solid choice for builds using these spells, despite some bugs.

10. Fire Knight’s Helm

Providing 2% more HP, 5% more stamina, and 5% more equipment load, this helmet is like a mini Eartree Favor in helmet form. It’s beneficial for overall survivability and load management.

9. Finger Robe

Boosting Finger Sorceries by 8%, this chest piece is like having an extra Graven Mass Talisman. It’s perfect for enhancing these already solid sorceries.

8. Messmer’s Helm

Boosting Fire Knight skills by 8% and Messmer Flame incantations by 3%, this helmet is great for builds utilizing both. If only focusing on Fire Knight skills, opt for the Winged Serpent for a better boost.

7. Dancer’s Set

Each piece boosts dancing-based skills by 3%, totaling 12% with the full set. This is one of the best Elden Ring DLC Special Effect Armor Sets great for skills like Eleonora’s Pole Blade and Sword Dance, but be cautious due to low damage negation.

6. Death Knight Set

Boosting all Lightning spells and Lightning Ashes of War by 8%, this set is perfect for Faith builds. It offers good damage negation and no negative side effects.

5. Winged Serpent

This helmet boosts Fiery Knight skills by 10%, enhancing skills like Flamespear. It’s a no-brainer for builds focusing on these powerful skills.

4. Gravebird Black Quill Armor

Identical to the Raptor Blackfeather’s chest piece, it boosts jumping attack damage by 10%. It’s perfect for builds using Power Stance Curve Swords or Twinblades, offering better poise and damage negation.

3. Ansbach Set

The Elden Ring DLC Ansbach Set will enhance the damage of your blood oath and dynastic skills by 14%, 5% for the helmet, and 3% per other piece. The whole armor isn’t that bad either, as you will get decent damage negation, not that great either. But, when you have the whole set equipped, you do get to enjoy 14% more damage with things like Bloody Helice Skill, Obsidian Lamina, Blood Blade Ash of War, Bloody Slash, Blood Tax, Rivers of Blood, Reduvia, and so on.

2. Leda’s Armor

The Leda’s Armor will enhance the running attack damage to 10%, alongside 10% for rolling, crouching, and backstepping. This is basically a chest piece that doesn’t have any negative side effects, along with basic damage negation, and descent poise. It might be preferable, but it also looks quite spectacular. The negative side effect here is that you do take more damage but in Elden Ring, that is basically like taking away the damage negation of your armor.

1. Rakshasa Set

Rakshasa Set - Best Elden Ring DLC Special Effect Armor Set

Taking the top spot in our Elden Ring DLC All Special Effect Armor Ranked guide is the Rakshasa Set, a set that basically provides you with free damage. Every piece of the Rakshasa Set will give you a 2% damage boost. The set has 4 pieces, so the total will be 8%. That’s not all, the boost is not limited, rather it allies to all the sorceries, incantations, spells, physical or any type of damage whatsoever.

Conclusion

In Elden Ring DLC, the right armor can significantly impact your gameplay. Whether you’re optimizing for damage, utility, or just looking cool, this ranking helps you understand the strengths and weaknesses of each piece. Experiment with different combinations to find what works best for your build and playstyle.
